Domain Already Connected Elsewhere
What to do when a domain is already connected to another Vercel project or team.
What this means
This message usually means your domain is already connected to another Vercel project or team.
In most cases, the easiest fix is to remove the domain from the other Vercel project, then try adding it again here.
Fastest path
Check the old Vercel project
If you can access the other Vercel account or project, remove the domain there first.
Try again in Hiveality
Come back to Domains and add the domain again.
Use DNS if you cannot access Vercel
If you cannot access the old Vercel account but you can edit DNS for the domain, use Vercel's domain claim flow and verify ownership with the TXT record they provide.
Contact support if you are blocked
If you cannot access the old Vercel account and cannot edit DNS, contact support so we can help you review next options.
Who needs to take action
- If you can access the old Vercel project, you can usually fix this yourself by removing the domain there.
- If you cannot access the old Vercel project, whoever manages your DNS will need to help.
- If you cannot access either, contact Support (Wild Wing).
Important note
Your domain does not need to be registered under our account to work with your website.
What matters is that the domain is no longer actively assigned to another Vercel team when you try to connect it to this website.
