Version History

Review history, create snapshots, and restore versions.

Open version history

1

Open a page

Go to

Website Pages

and select a page.

2

Open Version History

Select Version History from the editor toolbar.

Opening Version History saves the current page draft first so the latest work is easier to review in the timeline.

Create a snapshot

Use Create Snapshot to save a named checkpoint before major changes, a handoff, or a risky restore.

Checkpoint handoffs also save a recovery copy automatically before editing moves to the next person.

What you will see in the timeline

  • Live Version: the current published page visitors can see.
  • Saved Draft: an unpublished page save captured in version history.
  • Snapshot: a named checkpoint you created manually or saved before a checkpoint handoff or recovery step.

Restore a version

  • Restore Content: restores layout and content only.
  • Restore All: restores content and page settings (title, meta, and SEO).
  • Restores update the current draft first. Review the result and publish when you are ready.
  • Use Restore Content when you want the older layout back but need to keep today's page settings.

Undo vs version history

  • Undo / Redo: quickly step through recent edits in your current session.
  • Version History: restore a prior snapshot or full version when you need to roll back.
